Nuclear - Senior Drafter

About the Position
Ameren Missouri is part of St. Louis-based Ameren Corporation, generating almost 10,200 megawatts and serving 1.2 million electric customers in Missouri, including 127,000 natural gas customers. Our 4,000 employees account for more than one third of Ameren's 8,500 total workforce, and our service area covers 64 counties and more than 500 towns, including the greater St. Louis area.
DUTIES:
Under indirect and intermittent supervision, to do all levels of drafting work on which the
general design has been established, on construction and rehabilitation projects on
service buildings and other properties related to Callaway Energy Center; and to do
related work as required. In the connection to perform details of work, such as:
Prepare finished drawings from preliminary designs, diagrams, layouts,
sketches, notes, specifications, or verbal instructions.
Make study drawings of equipment arrangements and clearances in the
development of a construction project.
Make simple calculations or use tables or determine clearances, volumes,
heat losses, wire sizes, conduit sizes, pipe sizes, etc.
Make wiring diagrams from schematics.
Prepare schedules, bills of materials, etc.
Check drawings of other Senior Drafters or Drafters of lower
classifications.
Occasionally, obtain detailed information in the field, usually accompanied
by a Supervisor, or others.

PECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality and accuracy in updating and maintaining drawings and information. For
holding as confidential information obtained in connection with Company business.
Responsible for safe, prudent, efficient and effective use of Company resources.
Conduct self in efficient and effective manner.
CONTACTS:
Supervisors, engineers, construction personnel, other Company departments in
connection with work performed, outside companies (if requested) in acquiring
information for the maintenance and construction of Ameren drawings.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
When on field trips or assigned to a site, subject to usual conditions existing at the
Callaway Energy Center and subject to outdoor weather conditions.
HAZARDS:
When on field trips or assigned to a site, subject to those hazards incidental to visiting
construction projects, the Callaway powerblock and other buildings at the Callaway
Energy Center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or the equivalent
Two years as a Nuclear - Junior Drafter or three years comparable external experience
and an Associate's Degree or equivalent coursework in engineering or engineering
technology, from an accredited university, college or junior college, preferably with at
least two advanced courses in CAD. The credit hours must be taken in the field of
electrical, mechanical or structural engineering or technology in the discipline the
employee selected. Overall grade point average must be 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 or 3.5 on
a scale of 5.0.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
