Nuclear - Junior Drafter

About the Position
Ameren Missouri is part of St. Louis-based Ameren Corporation, generating almost 10,200 megawatts and serving 1.2 million electric customers in Missouri, including 127,000 natural gas customers. Our 4,000 employees account for more than one third of Ameren's 8,500 total workforce, and our service area covers 64 counties and more than 500 towns, including the greater St. Louis area.
Under immediate supervision, to do detail and copy drafting work; to assist in taking
field measurements; and to do related work as required. In this connection to perform
details of work, such as:
Make detail drawings from sketches furnished by others, such as conduit
boxes, diagrams, hangers and supports, simple beams and reinforced
pads and footings.
Change drawings to match marked prints or verbal instructions.
Make posters, signs, charts, maps.
Make wiring diagrams from schematics
Assist in taking field measurements.
Quality and accuracy in updating and maintaining drawings and information. For
holding as confidential information obtained in connection with Company business.
Responsible for safe, prudent, efficient and effective use of Company resources.
Conduct self in efficient and effective manner.
Supervisors, engineers, construction personnel, other Company departments in
connection with work performed, outside companies (if requested) in acquiring
information for the maintenance and construction of Ameren drawings.
When on field trips or assigned to a site, subject to the usual conditions existing at the
Callaway Energy Center and subject to outdoor weather conditions.
When on field trips or assigned to a site, subject to those hazards incidental to visiting
construction projects, the Callaway powerblock and other buildings at the Callaway
Energy Center.
Graduation from high school or the equivalent
A minimum of an Associate's Degree or equivalent coursework in engineering or
engineering technology from an accredited university, college or junior college,
preferably with at least two advanced courses in CAD. The credit hours must be taken
in the field of electrical, mechanical or structural engineering or technology in the
discipline the employee selected. Overall grade point average must be 2.5 on a scale
of 4.0 or 3.5 on a scale of 5.0.
Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without

After completing two years of satisfactory service in this position, employees will promote into the Nuclear - Senior Drafter position.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
