The technician makes fiber and data pulls throughout the site from building-to-building and room-to-room, ensures fiber optic and data systems are operating within spec, as well as troubleshooting and correcting any issues.
Job Description Practice proper mechanical and fusion splicing via accepted field techniques Prepare mechanical connectors and fiber-optic for fusion splicing Practice proper termination and connecting of data systems.
Properly test terminated cable runs and connections Maintain the necessary equipment and devices required for fiber and data work Communicate with customer throughout fulfillment of the agreed upon SOW Read and translate applicable drawings and instructions Cable installation, removal, and transits Underground, aboveground, and structural cable pulling in all ambient and non-ambient environments Practice proper care and techniques associated with the installation of single and multi-mode fiber in tight buffered and loose tube applications Practice proper care and techniques associated with the installation of data systems and equipment Maintain proper job documentation as required per Lumix standards and as specified per project scopes Fulfill expectations as handed down from leadership Excel and assimilate in a team environment Prepare for day-to-day operations associated with active projects Travel to and from customer sites as scheduled or communicated Wear proper PPE and maintain a safe work environment Operate technical equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other tools as needed Perform all physical duties to include lifting, pulling, and pushing as required to run single/multistrand fiber and data cables Maintain and comply with learnings associated with client agreements Other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities Outside the box mentality Work with minimal supervision in a team environment Possess the drive to advance with a growing team Display a willingness to learn and enhance skills Noted Requirements Experience in operating various hand tools, and basic computer equipment Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record Pass a pre-employment drug test, and as required for client/contract obligations Known Applicable Certifications Fiber Optics Installer Certification Certified Fiber Optics Technician (CFOT) Certified Premises Cabling Technician (CPCT) Certified Fiber Optics Specialist (CFOS) Job Type:
